There are many opportunities for training time on the track for the beginner and experienced racer.

Track Day Clinics - Beginner/Intermediate
Track Day clinics occur a couple of times a month and are organized by Mitch Friedman of the South Bay Wheelmen. These clinics focus on teaching track skills and introducing riders to different race formats. The clinic welcomes anyone who wants to learn track riding and spend a great, fun day on a bike. The $10 fee covers the clinic plus $5 bike rental. The start time is 9:00am. All proceeds go to the Encino Velodrome. Visit the track schedule for the date of the next clinic.

Beginner and Intermediate Clinics
Board Member Ken Avchen also offers clinics for beginners and intermediate track riders. These clinics are geared to newcomers or people who have not ridden track recently. Come out for a fun, non-competitive day with emphasis on safety and learning track skills. Bring your helmet and other cycling gear. Visit the track schedule for the date of the next clinic.

Women's Clinic
Each year a women's clinic is offered. Katie Safford shares her experience and knowledge of track racing to encourage women to give the track a try. Katie's goal is to get as many women racing the banked oval as possible, because, as she says, "it is more fun than humans should have!" What a great opportunity for women to learn to ride the track. This clinic focuses on those who have never ridden on the track and teaches the skills needed to ride the fixed gear bikes and ride the track. Learn the basics of pacelines, rules and etiquette. Visit the track schedule for the date of the next clinic.
